With the escalation of military conflicts in the Middle East and concerns regarding global supply security peaking, the barrel price of Brent crude oil rose to 106.33 dollars.

Sharp Increase in Oil Prices

The barrel price of Brent crude oil recorded an increase of 5.06 percent, climbing up to 106.33 dollars. This increase in prices was noted as a remarkable recovery following the low levels seen at the beginning of August.

Regional Tensions and Conflicts

The failure to reach a lasting agreement between the US and Iran and the resumption of conflicts impacted the markets. While Iran announced that attacks had been carried out against ships near the Strait of Hormuz, the Revolutionary Guards declared that further responses would be given.

EIA Revises Forecasts Upward

The US Energy Information Administration updated its price projections for this year and next year due to supply disruptions in the Middle East. It was reported that global oil inventories decreased by approximately 400 million barrels this year.

Future Price Expectations

According to the agency's report, the average barrel price of Brent crude is expected to be 91.01 dollars this year. For 2027, Brent crude is projected to be at 73.74 dollars and WTI crude at 69.74 dollars.
