The Capital Markets Board announced that the upper limit will not be applied to share buybacks until a secondary decision, while Borsa Istanbul stated that the uptick rule has been introduced for short-selling transactions in the BIST 50 Index.

In the official statement made by the Capital Markets Board, it was reported that it was decided not to apply the upper limit on share buybacks until a secondary announcement.
Details of the Principle Decision and Communiqué
In accordance with the decision taken, the upper limit regarding the total amount set forth in the third paragraph of Article 9 of the Communiqué on Buybacked Shares numbered II-22.1 will not be applied temporarily.
Short-Selling Step from Borsa Istanbul
Borsa Istanbul implemented a new regulation for shares subject to short selling in the BIST 50 Index, in line with the decision of the Capital Markets Board.
Implementation of the Uptick Rule
It was decided to apply the uptick rule for transactions in the shares within the BIST 50 Index, effective from September 22, 2026, until the next announcement.
Transaction Rules and Price Conditions
Short-selling transactions can be executed at a price higher than the last executed transaction price of the capital market instrument or, in case the price is higher than the previous price, at the last price level.
Warnings to Investors
Reminding that sales made during the day without ownership and closed with purchases on the same day are also within the scope of short selling, investors were asked to be careful when transmitting orders.
