Central Bank Keeps Credit Card Interest Rates Unchanged for September
No changes were made to the maximum credit card interest rates and tiered limit structure effective throughout September compared to August.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey decided not to change the maximum interest rates to be applied in credit card transactions for September, maintaining the rates from August.
September Interest Policy
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey decided not to make any changes to the maximum interest rates to be applied to credit card transactions for September. In the new period effective as of September 1, 2026, the current rates and tiered limit structure from August are preserved as they are.
Low-Limit Debt Rates
According to Central Bank data, the monthly maximum contractual interest rate is applied as 3.25 percent for statement balances below 30 thousand Turkish Liras. The late payment interest for debt in the same limit group continues to remain at the level of 3.55 percent.
Medium-Limit Debt Rates
A different tiered rate is applied for credit cardholders whose debt amount is between 30 thousand Turkish Liras and 180 thousand Turkish Liras. Cardholders in this group are charged a monthly contractual interest of 3.75 percent and a late payment interest of 4.05 percent.
High-Limit and Corporate Cards
Rates have been kept constant for individual cards with statement balances exceeding 180 thousand Turkish Liras and for all corporate credit cards. In this category, the contractual interest rate is applied at 4.25 percent, and the late payment interest is applied at the level of 4.55 percent.
Overdraft Account and Cash Advance Rates
No rate changes were made in September for overdraft accounts and cash advance transactions either. The maximum contractual interest rate for these financial transactions remains valid at 4.25 percent.
