Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Puts New Series Banknotes into Circulation
The CBRT announced that the 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes of the E9 Emission Group have been put into circulation starting today with updated signatures.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that, based on its legal authority, it has put the new series 50 TL and 5 TL banknotes of the E9 Emission Group into circulation as of today.
New Banknotes Entering Circulation
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey shared its announcement regarding the issuance of the 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes of the E9 Emission Group with the public. In the statement made, it was stated that the new banknotes would begin to be used starting today.
Changes Made to Signatures
When compared with the previous series banknotes currently in circulation, it was seen that the signatures on the new banknotes were rearranged. In addition to the signature of Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan, the signatures of the respective officials took place on the banknotes.
Signatories and Details
It was announced that the new series 50 TL banknotes bear the signature of Deputy Governor Dr. Gazi İshak Kara, while the 8th series 5 TL banknotes bear the signature of Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Fatma Özkul.
Design and Dimension Features
It was emphasized that, with the exception of the signatures on them, the banknotes are completely identical to previous series in terms of dimensions, front and rear face compositions, and general features and appearances.
Status of Old and New Series
In the official statement made, it was reported that the new series banknotes will circulate together with the previous series banknotes and will take place in public use simultaneously.
