Central Bank's total reserves registered an increase in the week of August 21

The total reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey showed a significant increase in the week ending August 21 compared to the previous week.
An Increase Occurred in Total Reserves
According to the weekly money and bank statistics announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, an upward movement was observed in total reserves.
The Central Bank's total reserves registered an increase of approximately 4.9 billion dollars in the week of August 21 compared to the previous week.
Gross Foreign Exchange Reserves Declined
According to the weekly statistical data, a slight decrease occurred in the Central Bank's gross foreign exchange reserves component.
Gross foreign exchange reserves, which were 75 billion 166 million dollars in the week of August 14, declined to 74 billion 228 million dollars as of August 21.
Gold Reserves Continued to Rise
According to the announced data, despite the decline in foreign exchange reserves, a strong increase took place in gold reserves.
Gold reserves increased by 5 billion 886 million dollars compared to the previous week, reaching the level of 114 billion 221 million dollars.
