Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated in his speech at the 27th TÜRKONFED Business World Summit that the Turkish economy continues to grow and that the temporary issue in the capital markets will be overcome with necessary measures.

Economic Growth and Inflation Targets

Stating that the Turkish economy maintains its resilience, officials expressed that despite adverse conditions, a 3.3 percent growth is expected this year.

It was emphasized that growth is projected to reach levels of 5 percent by 2029 in the upcoming period, while single-digit figures are targeted for inflation in the medium term.

Developments in Capital Markets

It was announced that a temporary issue has been faced in a specific and limited area within the capital markets, and administrative and judicial measures have been taken to resolve this situation.

It was stated that thanks to the measures taken, this temporary issue will be overcome and the capital markets will continue on their way even stronger than before.

Earthquake Expenditures and Budget Balance

It was shared with the public that a total of 5.4 trillion liras has been spent over the last four-year period to heal the wounds of the earthquake.

It was conveyed that despite these massive expenditures, the budget deficit and current account deficit are kept under control and a balanced stance is maintained.

Terror-Free Turkey Process and Steps

It was stated that following the law adopted in Parliament, boards have been established on the executive wing and the process is being carried out meticulously.

It was reported that in the first phase, the laying down of arms and the dissolution of terrorist structures will be verified on the ground, and then the second phase will be transitioned to with the approval of the National Security Council.
