Cevdet Yılmaz's Statement on Economic Fundamentals and Capital Markets
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the fundamentals of the Turkish economy are strong and that there are no structural problems in the capital markets.
During an event in Istanbul, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that Turkey's macroeconomic fundamentals are solid and that there are no structural issues in the capital markets.
Global Developments and Exports
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 21st MÜSİAD Expo International Fair and the 29th IBF International Business Forum in Istanbul, Yılmaz stated that global trade is following a volatile course due to geopolitical tensions and protectionism.
Stating that Turkey has shown resilience in exports despite regional slowdowns, the official noted that global trade expectations are being suppressed.
National Income and Growth Targets
Announcing that the annualized national income exceeded 1.7 trillion dollars as of the first half of 2026, Yılmaz conveyed that this figure is expected to exceed 1.8 trillion dollars by the end of the year.
It was stated that the per capita national income is also projected to be around 20,000 dollars.
Financial Indicators and Reserves
Stating that the budget deficit and current account deficit are hovering at manageable levels, Yılmaz pointed out that risk premiums have declined and Central Bank reserves remain strong.
Logistics and Production Projects
It was stated that Turkey's position as a global production and logistics center will be reinforced through projects such as the Development Road, Middle Corridor, Zangezur Corridor, and Hejaz Railway.
