In his evaluation of the September inflation data, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that gains in the disinflation process have been strengthened with decisive policies, and annual inflation has fallen below 30% after a five-year period.

Downward Trend in Inflation Gained Momentum

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the fight against inflation is being conducted with decisive, holistic, and coordinated policies, emphasizing that gains in the disinflation process are being reinforced. It was noted that despite external developments, the downward trend in inflation accelerated in the third quarter of the year.

Annual Inflation Fell Below 30 Percent

It was stated that consumer inflation was 1.84% in September, while annual inflation declined to 29.73%. It was emphasized that after a period of approximately five years, annual inflation dropped below 30% in line with the framework of the Medium-Term Program.

Positive Trend in Food Inflation

It was stated that this improvement in inflation was contributed to by the positive trend in food inflation. It was recorded that annual food inflation fell to 27.6%, particularly under the influence of the drop in fresh fruit and vegetable prices.

Emphasis on Strong Coordination in Policies

It was stated that the impact of global and regional developments on domestic prices is closely monitored, and monetary, fiscal, and incomes policies are implemented with strong coordination. It was expressed that the 9-month inflation in September was realized as 24.32%.

Price Stability and Structural Steps

It is aimed to sustain the decline in the underlying trend of inflation and permanently establish price stability. It was reported that decisive steps are being taken in areas such as agricultural production productivity, energy supply security, housing supply, and logistics costs.
