China Calls on US to Lift Iran-Related Sanctions
Beijing stated that Washington's unilateral decisions harm global trade and demanded an end to the sanctions.
Beijing has made an official call for the US to lift sanctions imposed on Chinese citizens and companies over alleged ties to Iran. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce emphasized that these unilateral steps are contrary to international law.
Call from Beijing to Washington
The Chinese administration demanded the immediate lifting of sanctions applied by the US against Chinese citizens and companies on the grounds of alleged links to Iran. Beijing argues that such decisions are unfair and lack legal basis.
Ministry of Commerce Spokesperson Huang Ling evaluated the issue during a press conference held in the capital, sharing her country's official stance with the public.
Stance Against Unilateral Sanctions
The Chinese government clearly stated its opposition to unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the United Nations Security Council.
Spokesperson Huang Ling stated that the Washington administration continues to make decisions to sanction Chinese individuals and entities despite repeated objections.
Impact on Trade Relations and Security
It is argued that the unilateral sanctions implemented by the US improperly interfere with normal economic and trade relations between countries.
The Beijing administration pointed out that such pressure practices also negatively affect global energy security and supply stability.
Protection of Companies' Rights
The Chinese side demanded that Washington put an end to its erroneous practices and completely lift the sanctions in question.
Furthermore, the Beijing administration emphasized that it will continue to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of the country's citizens and companies.
US Department of Treasury Steps
The US Department of Treasury had taken steps on May 8 on the grounds that they mediated Iran's weapons procurement and provided supplies to its systems.
Within this scope, China-based Yushita Shanghai and Hitex Insulation, as well as Hong Kong-based Hesin Industry and Mustad Limited, were included in the sanctions list.
Decisions Targeting Satellite Companies
The US Department of State also claimed in a statement on May 8 that satellite imagery was provided to be used in attacks by Iran's forces in the Middle East.
For this reason, it was announced that sanctions would also be imposed on China-based satellite companies Chang Guang Satellite Technology, The Earth Eye, and MizarVision.
