Customs Duty Date for Sunflower Seed Imports Advanced
The Ministry of Trade updated the date on which the import duty on refined sunflower oil will be reduced to October 1, 2026, to ensure supply security and price stability.
The Ministry of Trade advanced the effective date of the 12 percent customs duty to be applied on oil sunflower seed imports in order to support supply security and price stability in refined sunflower oil.
Purpose of the Regulation
In the statement made by the Ministry of Trade, it was emphasized that the aim is to prevent speculative price movements and protect supply security in basic food products.
Emphasis on Domestic Production
It was stated that trade policy instruments are being used resolutely in coordination with all relevant institutions in order to meet the country's needs primarily through domestic production.
New Tax Schedule
In line with the new regulation, it was decided that the customs duty, which is currently applied at 20 percent during the harvest season, will be reduced to 12 percent starting from October 1, 2026, instead of November 30.
