Diesel Fuel Price Reaches Historic Record in Belgium
With the new ceiling prices set by the Ministry of Economy in Belgium, the price of a liter of diesel has risen to 2.501 euros, reaching its highest level of all time.
According to the latest ceiling prices announced by the Belgian Ministry of Economy, the price per liter of diesel (B7) increased by 3.3 cents to 2.501 euros, leaving behind the previous record from April.
New Ceiling Price Implementation
The Belgian Ministry of Economy shared the new fuel ceiling prices that will be valid in the country as of September 22 with the public. According to the announcement, gas stations cannot exceed these determined maximum prices.
New Record Level in Diesel
The price per liter of diesel (B7) in the country rose to 2.501 euros with a 3.3-cent increase. This figure caused the previous record level of 2.489 euros, recorded on April 9, to be surpassed.
Increases in Other Fuel Types
The maximum liter price of B10 diesel, which contains up to 10 percent biodiesel, also experienced a 3.4-cent increase, reaching 2.493 euros. The liter price of diesel fuel used for heating varied depending on order quantities.
Heating Diesel Prices
The liter price of heating diesel reached 1.6217 euros for orders under 2,000 liters. For orders over 2,000 liters, this price was set at 1.5812 euros.
Developments in Global Oil Markets
Transportation issues in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, along with attacks on Saudi Arabia's pipeline, have pushed the barrel price of Brent crude above 100 dollars in recent days.
Middle East Exports and Futures
Gasoil exports from the Middle East halved in the March-August period compared to the same period last year, dropping to 800,000 barrels per day. Meanwhile, gasoil futures prices in Europe have more than doubled since the beginning of the year.
