Standing out with its large economic scale and population, Dong Nai possesses advantages provided by infrastructure connections and the Long Thanh International Airport. The city ranked sixth nationwide in the 2026 E-commerce Index, maintaining its stable position in this field. Additionally, many foreign-invested green and smart factories operate within its industrial parks.

According to General Statistics Office data, the value-added rate of Dong Nai's digital economy rose from 6.61% in 2021 to 7.88% in 2025. Nevertheless, the development level of the core digital economy sector and the digital service ecosystem remain among the primary constraints to growth.

The city administration focuses on areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips, the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and blockchain. Opened in July 2025 by Coherent Corporation in the Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park, a $127 million semiconductor facility reinforces the region's appeal in the high-tech sector.
