Economists' August 2026 inflation and exchange rate forecasts announced
According to the Matriks Haber survey, economists' median CPI forecast for August was 1.95 percent monthly and 31.63 percent annually.
The August inflation and exchange rate expectation survey organized by Matriks Haber was completed with the participation of 32 banks and brokerage firms. Accordingly, economists' median CPI forecast was shaped at 1.95 percent on a monthly basis and 31.63 percent on an annual basis.
Survey Participant Profile and General Average
A total of 32 banks and brokerage firms participated in the expectation survey conducted by Matriks Haber. According to the calculations made, the average expectations were recorded as 1.91 percent on a monthly basis and 31.61 percent on an annual basis.
August CPI Forecast Ranges
The monthly expectations of 22 institutions that shared forecasts for the August CPI data ranged between 1.25 percent and 2.15 percent. Annual forecasts were in the band of 31.13 percent to 31.90 percent.
Year-End and Future Period Expectations
The current year-end CPI expectation showed a slight increase to the level of 29.50 percent. On the other hand, the annual CPI forecast for 12 months ahead was calculated as 24.00 percent.
Dollar and Exchange Rate Projections
The dollar and TRY expectation for the end of 2026 by 20 analysts who participated in the survey declined to the level of 51.7250. The median exchange rate forecast for twelve months ahead was determined as 57.65.

The August inflation data is expected to be announced by TURKSTAT on September 3, 2026. Experts continue to monitor energy, food, and service prices in the short-term outlook.
