Economists' August Current Account Surplus Expectation Announced
The results of the expectation survey conducted with 14 economists have been finalized ahead of the Central Bank's August balance of payments data.
The expectation survey of economists regarding the August 2026 Balance of Payments Statistics, to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey on Tuesday, October 13, has been completed and the data shared.
August Current Account Surplus Expectation
The 14 economists participating in the survey expect the current account to post a surplus of 3 billion 502.9 million dollars in August.
The current account forecasts of the economists for this month ranged between a low of 850 million dollars and a high of 4.5 billion dollars in surplus.
Year-End Current Account Deficit Forecasts
The total deficit expectation projected by economists for the year-end current account was calculated at 48 billion dollars.
The year-end current account deficit forecasts of the participating experts ranged between 35.8 billion dollars and 54 billion dollars.
July Data
Turkey's current account had recorded a surplus at the level of 36 million dollars in the previous month, July.
With this development in July, the annualized current account deficit figure stood at the level of 40.7 billion dollars.
