Economy and Pensioner Regulations Discussed at AK Party MKYK Meeting

At the AK Party Central Decision and Management Board meeting, alongside the economic presentation made by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, formulas to increase retirees' incomes and regulations planned for the years 2027-2028 were put on the table.

Economic Presentation Delivered

Lasting about two hours, the MKYK meeting featured a comprehensive presentation by Treasury and Finance Minister Şimşek detailing the fight against inflation, interest rate policy, and economic targets for the upcoming period.

Challenges in the Fight Against Inflation

In his presentation, Minister Şimşek stated that pricing behaviors being shaped according to past inflation make the struggle difficult. Additionally, the view was expressed that rent and other price increases create a vortex.

It was stated that potential volatility in exchange rates due to the impact of geopolitical developments and wars on the economy constitutes risks against taking rapid steps in interest rate policy.

New Formulas for Retirees

One of the striking topics of the meeting was the potential regulations to be made for retirees. It was proposed to provide housing and food support to needy citizens over the age of 60.

While it was stated that work could be done on different formulas aimed at increasing the incomes of retirees, the message was given that certain regulations targeting retirees could come to the agenda especially in the years 2027 and 2028.

Emphasis on Intra-Party Unity

It was noted that at the meeting, President Erdoğan pointed to the party's 25th foundation anniversary, saying that the path they walk is not easy and that they must not disrupt the brotherhood within themselves.
