The Bağ-Kur premium reduction regulation, which aims to lower the retirement premium day requirement for small tradesmen from 9,000 days to 7,200 days, is expected to be implemented in 2027. A significant reduction in the premium burden is anticipated with this study.

Bağ-Kur and SSK Premium Difference

SGK Chief Expert İsa Karakaş reminded that SSK employees can retire with 5,000 to 5,975 days depending on their insurance status, while a 9,000-day premium requirement applies to Bağ-Kur tradesmen.

Five-Year Reduction in Premium Burden

With the implementation of the expected legal regulation, the 9,000-day premium requirement will drop to 7,200 days. This will provide an advantage of 1,800 days in the premium burden for the insured individuals within the scope.

Who Will Benefit from the Regulation

It is anticipated that primarily small tradesmen and artisans will benefit from the upcoming premium reduction. For company partners and large business owners, the current 9,000-day premium requirement is expected to continue.

Warning on Retroactive Premium Debt

Completing the number of premium days alone is not sufficient to obtain the right to retirement. Experts emphasize that there must be no retroactive premium debt as of the date the application petition is submitted.

Expectation of 2027 for Legal Regulation

For the premium equalization, whose actuarial calculations have been completed and costs determined, the bill is now expected to be drafted and submitted to Parliament. The application is projected to enter into force in 2027.
