Foreign Trade Terms Declined in July According to TurkStat Data

The Turkish Statistical Institute released the foreign trade indices for the period of July 2026. According to the announced data, the export unit value index increased by 8.2 percent, and the import unit value index rose by 12.8 percent.

Export Unit Value Index

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, the export unit value index recorded an increase of 8.2 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year.

When sub-items were analyzed, increases of 6.5 percent in food, beverages, and tobacco, 10 percent in raw materials, 39.4 percent in fuels, and 6.1 percent in manufacturing were observed.

Import Unit Value Index

The import unit value index became another noteworthy economic indicator, showing a 12.8 percent annual increase in July.

During the period in question, the import unit value index decreased by 3.3 percent in food, beverages, and tobacco, while it increased by 23.7 percent in fuels.

Export and Import Volume Indices

On an annual basis in July, the export volume index decreased by 4.9 percent, while the decline in the import volume index was calculated as 6.9 percent.

Change in Terms of Trade

The terms of trade, obtained by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, decreased by 4 points compared to the same period of last year.

With this decline, the terms of trade dropped to the level of 91.3 in the July 2026 period and was recorded officially.
