Fuel Export Restrictions Extended in Russia to Protect the Domestic Market

The Russian government has decided to extend the restrictions on the export of gasoline, diesel, marine fuel, and jet fuel in order to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market.

Durations of Export Restrictions

According to the official statement made by the Russian government, the ban on the export of diesel, marine fuel, and gas oil will continue until September 30. While the ban on gasoline exports has been extended until January 31, 2027, it was decided that the restriction on jet fuel exports will be maintained until November 30.

Attacks on Refineries

Recent attacks by Ukraine using unmanned aerial vehicles on oil refineries in Russia have affected production processes in the energy sector. Due to these attacks, numerous facilities have had to be taken in for maintenance, and restrictions on fuel supply are being implemented in some regions.

Supply Security in the Domestic Market

The Russian government had previously introduced restrictions on gasoline and diesel fuel exports to protect supply security and price stability in the domestic market. With the new decision taken, the duration of these measures is extended, aiming to prevent fluctuations in the market.
