House sales across Turkey declined annually in August
House sales across Turkey decreased compared to the same month of the previous year, realizing at 127,410 in August.
Total house sales across Turkey recorded a 14.7 percent decrease in August compared to the same period of the previous year. According to official data released, while mortgaged sales increased during this period, declines were experienced in second-hand and other sales categories.
General Sales Figures and Decline
Total house sales across Turkey decreased by 14.7 percent annually in August, dropping to 127,410.
The house sales in question had also recorded a 17 percent annual decline in the previous month of July.
First-Hand and Second-Hand Sales Distribution
The number of first-hand house sales across Turkey decreased by 4.5 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, realizing at 44,378.
Second-hand house sales, on the other hand, fell by 19.4 percent in the same period to 83,032.
Shares of Sales Types
The share of first-hand house sales within total house sales was recorded as 34.8 percent in August.
The share of second-hand house sales in total sales realized at 65.2 percent.
Mortgaged and Other Sales
Mortgaged house sales across Turkey increased by 7.2 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 22,131.
Other house sales decreased by 18.3 percent in the same period, dropping to 105,279, and their share in the total became 82.6 percent.
House Sales to Foreigners
House sales to foreigners increased by 0.1 percent in August compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 1,938.
In the January-August period, house sales to foreigners decreased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, becoming 13,141.
