IMEI Registration Fee May Rise in 2027 Due to Revaluation Rate
According to calculations by economist Hakkı Hakan Yılmaz, if the 2027 revaluation rate is 27.85 percent, the IMEI registration fee could exceed 69,450 TL.
Economist Prof. Dr. Hakkı Hakan Yılmaz announced that the 2027 revaluation rate could be 27.85 percent, and if this occurs, the IMEI registration fee paid for phones brought from abroad could exceed 69,450 TL.
Revaluation Rate Expectation
Economist Prof. Dr. Hakkı Hakan Yılmaz shared his calculations regarding the revaluation rate to be applied to taxes, fines, and fees at the beginning of 2027. It was stated that if the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) registers at around 2 percent in September and October, the rate will be 27.85 percent.
Presidential Authority and Fees
While the revaluation rate is expected to be finalized on November 3, the President has the authority to reduce or increase this rate by up to 50 percent. If no reduction is made, the IMEI registration fee will also experience an increase of approximately 28 percent.
Potential Figure for IMEI Registration Fee
It is calculated that the IMEI registration fee, which is currently 54,258 TL, could rise to 69,450 TL with a potential increase of 27.85 percent. This situation shows that the fee has multiplied exponentially since 2015.

MOBİSAD President Mustafa Kemal Turnacı stated that the price advantage of buying phones from abroad has largely diminished and that this advantage could completely disappear in 2027. Additionally, it was pointed out that the devices do not have standard manufacturer warranties in Turkey.
