Foreign sales figures by province for the first eight months of the year and August have been finalized. While Istanbul maintained its leadership, numerous provinces saw increases.
According to the foreign sales data by activity provinces for August and the first 8 months of the year announced by the Ministry, 25 provinces exceeded the one-billion-dollar threshold, increases were recorded in 56 provinces, and Istanbul became the province with the highest exports.
Istanbul Ranked First in Exports
While Istanbul was the province with the highest exports last month with 5 billion 503 million dollars, the city's exports showed an increase of 13 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
Foreign Sales Figures of Kocaeli and Izmir
Istanbul was followed by Kocaeli with 3 billion 122 million dollars and a 16.6 percent increase, and Izmir with 1 billion 842 million dollars and a 1.2 percent decrease.
Sector-Based Prominent Chapters
While the chapter of precious or semi-precious stones ranked first in Istanbul's exports, motor land vehicles stood out in Kocaeli, and mineral fuels and oils stood out in Izmir.
Countries to Which Most Exports Were Made by Province
While Istanbul exported the most to Switzerland, the UK ranked first in Kocaeli's preference, and Germany ranked first in Izmir's foreign sales.
Provinces That Increased Their Exports the Most on a Value Basis
In the ranking of provinces that increased their exports the most on an annual basis in August, Istanbul came in first with an increase of 634 million dollars, followed by Mersin and Kocaeli.
