Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi attended the 27th Informal Council of Ministers Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in New York within the scope of the 81st United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
Transportation Corridors and Regional Role
Touching upon the global importance of transportation corridors in the region during the meeting, Araghchi stated that expanding economic cooperation corridors and increasing ties with logistics hubs strengthen the economic role of the region.
Multilateral Cooperation and Global Security
Stating that the world is currently in a state of fragmentation and insecurity, Araghchi emphasized that strengthening multilateral cooperation will make significant contributions to global peace and security.
Upcoming Summit to be Held in Tehran
Araghchi also pointed to the 18th ECO Summit to be held in Tehran on December 3-4, 2026, drawing attention to the global importance of this gathering and reiterating Iran's determination to strengthen regional cooperation.
