İzmir Data Center Opened with a 100 Million Dollar Investment
The Aegean region's largest data center, established in partnership with Vodafone and DAMAC Digital, has commenced operations with a ceremony.
The İzmir Data Center, brought to life with a budget of 100 million dollars through the collaboration of Vodafone and DAMAC Digital, has been officially opened with a ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
Opening Ceremony and Participants
The opening ceremony of the İzmir Data Center, established in partnership with Vodafone and global digital infrastructure provider DAMAC Digital, was held.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Vodafone Turkey CEO Engin Aksoy, and DAMAC Digital Senior Vice President Ma’an Manna.
Evaluations by Minister Uraloğlu
Speaking at the opening, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the facility will undertake a critical role in terms of Turkey's digital future.
Minister Uraloğlu noted that the center will serve as a regional digital hub responding to the country's cloud, data, and artificial intelligence needs.
Investment Details and Objectives
It was announced that the facility, whose first phase has become operational with a budget of one hundred million dollars, has a total investment target of 300 million dollars.
The facility, the largest in the Aegean region, aims to transform Turkey and the Mediterranean into an international data center hub.
Vodafone's Data Center Investments
Completed in a short period of 1.5 years with an investment of one hundred million dollars, the project was described as an indicator of confidence in Turkey's future.
With this new facility, the total number of data centers operated by Vodafone across Turkey has risen to six.
