JPMorgan CEO Dimon Warns Against US Oil Policy
Emphasizing that India and global energy markets should not be negatively impacted, Dimon drew attention to the difficulties brought by sanctions.
JPMorgan CEO Dimon stated that the US should avoid steps in its fight against Russia that would punish India and global oil markets.
Warning for Global Markets
Speaking in Mumbai, JPMorgan CEO Dimon pointed out the importance of the US considering the global balance while taking strategic steps.
India's Oil Imports
India, the world's third-largest crude oil buyer, had sourced more than half of its imports from Russia due to high prices and supply issues.
However, following new US sanctions, Indian refiners were forced to seek alternative supply sources.
New Sanctions Legislation
The regulation enacted last week grants the US President Donald Trump administration the authority to impose tariffs on countries purchasing Russian crude oil.
Dimon stated that it is difficult for refiners to change suppliers in a short time and that difficulties may arise in finding suitable oil.
