Major discount applied to diesel prices following drop in oil
Developments in international markets and the decline in oil prices were reflected on fuel signs. With the discount made, diesel prices were updated in many provinces.
With the decline in oil, a discount of 4.09 TL was made on diesel prices, and the new tariffs became valid in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and other provinces.
Drop in Oil Reflected at the Pumps
Fuel prices decreased with the decline in oil, and this situation was directly reflected at the pumps as a discount. With Brent oil falling below 100 dollars, a discount occurred in diesel prices. A discount of 4.09 liras was made on the liter price of diesel, which had exceeded 100 liras with the latest price increase.
New Diesel Prices by Province
Following the implemented discount rate, fuel signs in metropolitan cities were changed again. With the regulation, the liter of diesel dropped to 96.31 liras in Istanbul, 97.41 liras in Ankara, and 97.71 liras in Izmir. It was stated that the liter price of diesel would fall to 99.11 liras in eastern provinces.
Tax Increase Expectation for October
It was stated that 6 liras as Special Consumption Tax (SCT) and 1.2 liras as Value Added Tax (VAT) will be added in October. In this context, a total of 7.2 liras more will be reflected on the current liter prices as of October 1st.
Energy Prices in Global Markets
While high energy prices continue to challenge the Fed, activity in global markets persists. It was noted that while the barrel price of Brent oil trades at 102.99 dollars, the diesel discount has come into effect.
