Mesopotamian Foundation and DTSO Sign Protocol for Five-Language Economy Dictionary
A five-language economy dictionary consisting of approximately 5,000 terms is being prepared in partnership with the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mesopotamian Foundation.
Within the scope of the protocol signed between the Mesopotamian Foundation and the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO), it was decided to prepare a five-language dictionary containing approximately 5,000 economic terms in order for Kurdish to have a stronger and standardized usage area in economic life.
Details and Scope of the Protocol
With the cooperation protocol signed between the Mesopotamian Foundation and the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO), the preparation of the Kurdish Economy Terminology Dictionary was officially decided.
Languages to Be Included in the Dictionary
The Turkish, Persian, Arabic, and English equivalents of approximately 5,000 economic terms to be included in the dictionary will also be incorporated into the study.
International Literature Review
Within the framework of the study, international economy dictionaries will be reviewed with the aim of providing Kurdish with a stronger and standardized usage area in economic life.
Signing Ceremony and Officials
The protocol was signed by Faruk Korkmaz, DTSO Board Member Responsible for Language and Culture Studies, and Osman Akyıl, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mesopotamian Foundation.
Commission and Workshop Process
Within the scope of the study, a special commission consisting of academics and language experts will be established by the Mesopotamian Foundation, and the process will be completed with at least five workshops.
Institutional Support and Publication
While DTSO will support the organization, transportation, accommodation, and hospitality processes, the dictionary will be published with the logos of both institutions upon the completion of the studies.
