Minister Gürlek Emphasizes Legal Security and Predictability for Investors in the US

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, speaking at the Global Business Summit held in the US, argued that Turkey is the world's most reliable and predictable country in the legal field, stating that target timeframes have been introduced for judges to expedite commercial cases and that new legal regulations are being enacted.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made important evaluations at the Global Business Summit organized by TABA-AmCham in New Jersey, US, within the scope of the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations.

Arguing that businesspeople are prevented from investing in Turkey through speculation, Minister Gürlek stated that Turkey holds the position of the most reliable and predictable country in the legal field both in Europe and worldwide.

Commercial Cases and Target Timeframe Practice

Stating that they take into account the complaints of businesspeople regarding commercial cases not being concluded within a reasonable time, Gürlek noted that efforts are underway within the scope of the 12th judicial package to ensure that cases are concluded more rapidly.

Emphasizing that businesspeople should spend their time in their workplaces rather than courthouse corridors, Gürlek conveyed that target timeframes have been set for judges and that they show sensitivity toward concluding cases within these periods.

New Regulations for Investors

It was announced that various regulations have been implemented to ensure capital enters Turkey more easily and investors do not experience difficulties in the legal field following the global war crisis.

Gürlek stated that the Ministry of Justice continues to make regulations in the new system so that businesspeople can easily invest in Turkey regarding legal predictability and security.
