Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu Announces Historic Date for Türksat 7A
The new communication satellite, to be produced with domestic resources, is planned to enter production by the end of the year and be launched into space shortly.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the production process for the Türksat 7A satellite, to be manufactured with domestic and national resources, will be initiated before the end of the year, and the satellite will be launched into space within a few years.
Türksat 7A Production Process
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made statements regarding the Türksat 7A satellite at the TEKNOFEST area held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Stating that the technical specifications of the satellite have been finalized, Minister Uraloğlu announced that the production process will be officially launched before the end of the year.
TUSAŞ and TÜBİTAK Cooperation
Conveying that necessary negotiations have been held with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), TÜBİTAK, and relevant private companies for the production process, Uraloğlu stated that the domestically and nationally produced Türksat 7A satellite will be sent into space within a few years.
Türksat Biruni and Global Access
Reminding of the satellite agreement made with Qatar, Uraloğlu stated that the satellite, whose name was designated as Türksat Biruni by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be sent into space in the near future. He noted that TÜRKSAT satellites reach a population of 5.5 billion globally.
International Astronautical Congress
Emphasizing that Turkey will continue its satellite and space studies, Minister Uraloğlu added that they will participate in the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026), to be held in Antalya between October 5 and 9, and benefit from the expertise there.
