New Ceiling Price Tariff for School Canteens Determined in Istanbul
As the new academic year approaches, the ceiling prices to be applied in school canteens in Istanbul have been announced, with an overall increase of 6.8 percent.
With just days remaining before the start of the new academic year, the new ceiling price tariff for products to be sold in school canteens in Istanbul has become clear. Vahap Osmanoğlu, President of the Istanbul Canteen Operators Chamber, announced that they implemented a modest increase of 6.8 percent in total as part of the fight against inflation.
New Academic Term Tariff
Shortly before the opening of schools in Istanbul, the canteen prices for the new academic term were officially determined and shared with the public.
Prices of Basic Food Products
According to the new tariff, simit will be offered to students with a price tag of 30 liras, while açma and poğaça will be 35 liras.
The price of half a liter of water, frequently preferred by students, was set at 15 liras, and the price of tea at 25 liras.
Toast and Doner Prices
The toast and ayran combo, which was sold for 90 liras last year, will be put on sale for a total of 130 liras in the new term.
In the new list determined by canteen operators, the price of chicken doner was recorded as 145 liras.
Set Meal (Tabldot) Fees
The prices of set meals offered in schools have also been clarified for the new term.
Accordingly, the price of a three-course meal was determined as 245 liras, and a four-course meal as 285 liras.
Statements from the Chamber President
Vahap Osmanoğlu, President of the Istanbul Canteen Operators Chamber, stated that they reflected a modest price hike this year.
Osmanoğlu noted that as canteen operators, they initiated a fight against inflation and accordingly made an increase of only 6.8 percent in the overall total.
