Preparations for the 2027-2029 Central Government Budget Have Begun
With the communiqué published in the Official Gazette, the preparation process for the central government budget covering the years 2027-2029 has officially been put into effect.
In accordance with the communiqué published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the preparation work for the Central Government Budget covering the 2027-2029 period has officially begun, and the fundamental policy objectives regarding the process have been determined.
MTP Objectives and Main Goals
In line with the targets of the Twelfth Development Plan, it is aimed to strengthen macroeconomic and financial stability, maintain fiscal discipline, and establish price stability in a way that contributes to a fair income distribution.
To strengthen sustainable and inclusive growth, it is targeted to increase productivity and accelerate the processes of green and digital transformation.
Priorities of Fiscal Policy
It is aimed to preserve fiscal discipline and strengthen the sustainability of public finance, as well as to implement fiscal policies and monetary policy in coordination.
Activities to increase efficiency in expenditures, strengthen justice and efficiency in taxation, and combat informality will be continued.
Liquidation of Inefficient Expenditures
To increase efficiency in the use of resources, the systematic review of expenditures will be sustained, and inefficient spending areas will be liquidated.
Inspection and monitoring activities concerning austerity measures that will increase efficiency in public expenditures will be resolutely continued.
Investment and Vehicle Policies
Rationalization studies in the public investment program will be sustained, prioritizing investments that will generate economic and social benefits.
Surplus vehicles will be liquidated, and priority will be given to domestic production and eco-friendly vehicles in new vehicle acquisitions.
Preparation of Budget Proposals
Public administrations will submit their budget proposals based on appropriation proposal ceilings, general principles, and the multi-year budgeting approach.
