Restructuring Process for Tax and SSI Debts Completed
With the conclusion of applications for the restructuring of tax debts, debts exceeding half a trillion liras for more than 705 thousand debtors have been put into installments.
The application process regarding the deferral and installment payment of tax debts has been completed. Within the scope of the regulation, the total debt of 705 thousand 262 debtors amounting to 531 billion 540 million 500 thousand 676 TL was put into installments, while a restructuring of 183.3 billion liras was also carried out for SSI debts.
Application Process and General Figures
The application process for the restructuring of tax debts ended on August 31. Taxpayers wishing to benefit from the payment opportunity through deferral and installment plans showed intense interest in the process.
According to data from the Revenue Administration, 705 thousand 262 debtors benefited from the low-interest installment option for up to 72 months. A total debt amounting to 531 billion 540 million 500 thousand 676 TL was put into installments within this scope.
Exclusions and Collateral Conditions
Some of those indebted to tax offices preferred to pay small-amount debts, such as traffic or highway tolls, directly. Debts up to 10 million TL were put into installments without requiring collateral.
However, if the debt exceeds 10 million TL, it became mandatory to show collateral amounting to half of the exceeding portion.
Installment Periods and Preference Rates
While income tax, VAT, fees, traffic fines, and KYK debts were deferred within the scope of the application, debts other than VAT could be paid in installments for up to 72 months.
30.93% of taxpayers preferred 12 installments, and 28.01% preferred 36 installments; an annual deferral interest rate of 29% was applied.
First Installment Payment Date
Taxpayers whose applications have been accepted must make their first installment payment by September 30. Subsequent payments will be made on time according to the established plan.
Failure to pay at least two installments on time or making incomplete payments within a calendar year is considered a violation.
Payment Channels and Methods
Taxpayers can make their installment payments through the digital channels and mobile applications of the Revenue Administration, as well as at tax offices.
In addition, branches of contracted banks, alternative payment channels, and PTT offices are among the points where payments can be made.
MTV and Inspection Regulation
Provided that installment-based debts related to motor vehicles are paid on time, the official inspections of these vehicles can be performed.
However, in order to carry out sales and transfer transactions for motor vehicles, the entire debt subject to installment must be paid off.
Social Security Institution Debts
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that 183.3 billion liras of debt to the SSI has been put into installments.
The number of employers and insured employees who applied for deferral was recorded as 148 thousand 984, while 7.5 billion liras was collected as the first installment amount.
Rights Regarding Seizure Practices
As long as the structured debts are paid regularly, forced follow-up and seizure procedures will not be applied by the tax office.
Thanks to regular payments, the seizure of taxpayers' bank accounts, real estate, or vehicles will be prevented.
