Sectoral Inflation Expectations Report Released
According to September data announced by the Central Bank, market participants' and households' inflation forecasts for the upcoming period registered an increase.
The Sectoral Inflation Expectations report for September was published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT). According to the published data, while market participants and households experienced limited increases in their annual inflation expectations for the next 12-month period, the real sector's expectations declined.
Status of Market Participants
According to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, the 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectation for market participants rose to 23.70 percent, showing a limited increase of 0.01 points compared to the previous month.
Household Inflation Expectation
It was reported that households' inflation expectation for the next 12-month period registered an increase of 0.02 points compared to the previous month, coming in at 45.60 percent.
Decline in Real Sector Expectations
Unlike market participants and households, the real sector's 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectation decreased by 0.30 points compared to the previous month, dropping to 32.50 percent.
Ratio of Households Expecting a Decline
The proportion of households predicting that inflation in the country will decrease over the next 12-month period declined by 0.60 points compared to the previous month, falling to 16.25 percent.
Comparative Data on an Annual Basis
When compared to September of last year, market participants' expectation rose from 22.25 percent to 23.70 percent. In contrast, the real sector's expectation registered a decline from 36.80 percent to 32.50 percent.
When comparing the same annual periods, households' inflation expectation decreased from 52.99 percent in September of last year to 45.60 percent in September of this year.
