September 2026 Residential and Commercial Property Rent Increase Rate Set at 31.79 Percent
With the August inflation data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the new rent increase ceiling to be applied to residences and workplaces has become clear.
The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the consumer price index change rates for August 2026 to the public. According to the official statement, monthly inflation stood at 1.84 percent, annual inflation at 31.51 percent, and the rent ceiling rate based on twelve-month averages was officially determined.
August Inflation Rates
According to data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Consumer Price Index increased by 1.84 percent in August 2026 compared to the previous month. In the same period, an increase of 22.07 percent was recorded compared to December of the previous year.
Annual and Twelve-Month Data
The annual change in the CPI reached 31.51 percent in August 2026. The rate of change calculated based on twelve-month averages was recorded as 31.79 percent.
September Rent Increase Rate
The announced twelve-month average CPI rate of 31.79 percent directly determined the residential and workplace rent increase rate ceiling to be applied in the September 2026 period.
Status of Main Expenditure Groups
Annual changes for the three main expenditure groups with the highest weight were 33.79 percent in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 35.08 percent in transportation, and 39.77 percent in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels.
