September Inflation Figures and Annual Change Rates Announced

In line with the September 2026 data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the monthly and annual rates of consumer inflation have become clear.

According to the September 2026 data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the consumer price index increased by 1.84 percent on a monthly basis and by 29.73 percent on an annual basis.

September 2026 Inflation Rates

The September 2026 inflation figures were shared with the public by the Turkish Statistical Institute, and the basic consumer price index change rates gained clarity.

According to the announced data, the change in the CPI showed an increase of 1.84 percent in September compared to the previous month.

Changes on Annual and Year-End Basis

The increase in the consumer price index compared to December of the previous year stood at 24.32 percent.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the annual inflation rate was recorded as 29.73 percent.

Status of Main Expenditure Groups

The annual change rates of the three main expenditure groups with the highest weight were also announced with official data.

While the annual increase in food and non-alcoholic beverages was 27.62 percent, this rate was realized as 35.10 percent in the transportation group.

In the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group, the annual increase reached 39.99 percent.

Price Movements in Sub-Classes

Price movements of a total of 174 sub-classes covered in the index were reported in detail.

While a decrease was experienced in 35 of the examined sub-classes, no change was observed in 6 classes.

It was determined that price increases were recorded in the remaining 133 sub-classes.

Disinflation Statement from the Government

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced to the public that the disinflation process is being pursued with determination.

Yılmaz stated in his latest remarks that the annual inflation rate has fallen below 30 percent.
