Progress achieved in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Phu Tho province during the first six months of 2026 enabled the province to rise to third place nationwide in digital economy growth.
Rise of the Digital Economy
The digital economy in Phu Tho accounts for approximately 22.71% of its gross regional domestic product, placing the province 3rd out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide. There are about 600 businesses operating in the digital technology sector in the region.
Export and Industrial Contribution
Thanks to activities in electronic components, software, and services, the total export value of digital industrial products exceeded 7 billion USD. Electronics, computer, and camera industries play a key role in this growth.
Data-Driven Governance
The provincial administration has transitioned from traditional administrative structures to data-driven governance, implementing a socio-economic development and operation system aimed at creating accurate and clean data.
Completion of Tasks
Out of the 276 tasks monitored in the first six months, 169 were completed, reaching a rate of 61.2%. Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung requested the effective implementation of the data warehouse campaign.
Transformation in Administrative Procedures
Out of 198,120 applications received at the provincial level, 169,919 were processed online. Phu Tho scored 95.27 out of 100 on the Index of Serving Citizens and Businesses.
Infrastructure and Partnerships
Broadband fiber optic cables have been laid to all communes, 4G coverage has reached 98%, and 997 new 5G base stations have been installed. Additionally, strategic cooperation agreements were signed with various institutions.
