Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum made important evaluations regarding climate finance, green transition, and new projects.

Climate Finance and Investment Need

Stating that the summit was organized with a sense of urgency, Minister Murat Kurum drew attention to the financing gap on a global scale.

He conveyed that the need for climate finance is between 7.5 and 9 trillion dollars, while current expenditures remain at the level of 1.9 trillion dollars.

COP31 and the Climate Implementation Bridge

Expressing that the Climate Implementation Bridge has been established within the framework of the COP31 Presidency, Kurum said that it is aimed to close the gap between countries' targets and implementations.

It was noted that the Sustainable Urban Resilience Finance (SURFF) initiative will strengthen the project development capacity of local governments.

Mucilage Studies in Marmara

It was announced that a joint will be demonstrated with the Asian Development Bank against the mucilage problem in the Sea of Marmara.

It was emphasized that green and sustainable investments will be the most vibrant areas of the economy.

Business World Summit and Call

It was reported that TOBB will host the Business World Summit on November 12-13, simultaneously with the Leaders Summit and Finance Day.

Minister Kurum called on world leaders to allocate more resources for climate investments.
