Structure of the Newly Established Commune
Established on July 1, 2025, through the merger of the communes of Tat Thang, Thang Son, and Cu Dong, Cu Dong commune covers an area of 45.77 square kilometers.
Home to approximately 15,000 residents, ethnic minorities account for more than 69 percent of the local population.
Technology in Agricultural Production
The integration of science and technology into agricultural production processes in the commune draws significant attention.
Established in 2021, the Tat Thang Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative plays a pioneering role in establishing clean agriculture models.
Innovative Agricultural Products
In 2022, the cooperative introduced the Korean milk grape model and registered the product as a 3-star OCOP product in 2024.
Additionally, goat farming in compliance with VietGAP standards and organic vegetable production activities are carried out in the region.
Tea Production and Digitalization
Tea stands out as one of the key products in the green economic development of Cu Dong commune.
Established in 2018, the Cam My Tea Cooperative builds organic and VietGAP-certified areas, maintains electronic records, and lists its products on e-commerce platforms.
Forestry Activities
Alongside the agricultural sector, forestry constitutes one of the vital economic pillars of the region.
During the first eight months of 2026, the municipality carried out intensive forest planting on an area of over 170 hectares.
Circular Economy and Industry
Cu Dong commune was specially selected to implement the Circular Agriculture Village model in 2026.
The Thang Son Industrial Cluster, with an investment capital of 120 billion VND, started construction in April 2026 and targets investments across various sectors.
