Thematic Days Calendar Announced for COP31 Summit
The eleven-day event program and main focus areas of the climate summit to be held in November have been clarified.
The COP31 Presidency has shared with the public the thematic days calendar, where a different topic will be addressed each day throughout the summit to be held on November 9-20, 2026.
Scope and Objectives of the Summit
According to the statement made by the COP31 Presidency, special events targeting a different theme will be held every day for eleven days during the summit.
These programs aim to transform climate commitments into concrete initiatives and cross-sectoral cooperation.
Focus Areas of the First Days
In the first days of the calendar, food security, health, energy supply security, zero waste, and circular economy issues will be discussed.
While food and health will be discussed on November 9, energy and transport will stand out on November 10, and zero waste on November 11.
Themes of Cities, Finance, and Education
The summit program will also include critical areas such as resilient cities, the built environment, finance, trade, children, and youth.
While urban resilience will be discussed on November 12, November 13 will focus on green finance, and November 14 on climate literacy and green skills.
Technology, Nature, and Social Development
In the following days of the calendar, topics such as science, industry, technology, oceans, nature conservation, and social development will be covered.
While artificial intelligence and low-carbon production will be discussed on November 16, human development and women's empowerment will be addressed on November 18.
