Three Different Scenarios for the January 2027 Pension and Civil Servant Raise
Three different probabilities based on inflation forecasts have been calculated for the raise rates to be applied to retiree and civil servant salaries in January 2027.
Three different inflation scenarios have been put on the table for the January 2027 retiree and civil servant raise, shaped in accordance with TURKSTAT data.
Three-Month Inflation Data
With the announcement of inflation data for the months of July, August, and September, the initial three-month cumulative raise rate for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees has been finalized at 5.57 percent.
Retiree Raise Scenarios
According to year-end inflation forecasts, the January 2027 raise for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees is expected to range between 8.70 percent and 10.06 percent.
While the rate stands at 8.70 percent under the Central Bank's forecast, it reaches 9.04 percent in the Medium-Term Program and 10.06 percent in the CBRT Market Participants Survey expectation.
Lowest Pension
Since the lowest pension, currently standing at 23,552 liras, is kept separate from the base pension, a legislative arrangement must be made in Parliament to reflect this increase.
Depending on the raise rates, the base salary is projected to range between approximately 25,600 liras and 25,922 liras.
Civil Servants and Retired Civil Servants
Calculations are made for civil servants and retired civil servants by taking into account the collective bargaining agreement difference and new period increase rates.
In this context, the raise rate to be received by civil servants and retired civil servants is expected to materialize between 6.66 percent and 8.01 percent.
