Trade Minister Bolat: Construction of Energy Corridors Has Begun in Syria
Minister Ömer Bolat announced the target of increasing the trade volume with Syria to $10 billion during his contacts in Damascus and shared the schedule regarding Ziraat Bank's activities in the region.
Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat announced at the International Damascus Trade Fair that the construction of new energy corridors has begun in Syria and that Turkish contractors are ready for the reconstruction processes in the region.
Energy and Reconstruction Process
Minister Bolat stated that reconstruction activities will gain momentum as Syria's access to financing sources increases. In this context, it was stated that the construction of energy corridors has begun and the Turkish contracting sector will play an active role in this process.
Banking and Commercial Targets
It was announced that Ziraat Bank is projected to start its activities in Syria by the end of the year. In addition, it is aimed to increase the trade volume between Turkey and Syria to $10 billion in the medium term.
Customs and Industrial Cooperation
It was stated that the Syrian side has started expansion and revision works at the customs gates. Minister Bolat emphasized that strengthening the Turkish industrial presence by establishing partnerships in Syria is a strategic priority.
