Trade Minister Bolat's Statement on Economic Growth and Export Target

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced at the opening of the 10th Çerkezköy Industrial Fair held in Tekirdağ that Turkey has risen to become the world's 16th largest economy. Bolat stated that together with service exports, they will exceed a total of 410 billion dollars by the end of the year.

Economic Growth and Export Targets

Stating that they have made Turkey the world's 16th largest economy, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat noted that the economy was taken over 23 years ago when it was in 21st place.

Stating that the country has risen to become the world's 11th largest economy based on purchasing power parity, Bolat announced that the target for goods exports will be exceeded by the end of this month.

It was stated that with the addition of service exports, the total target is to exceed 410 billion dollars by the end of the year.

Çerkezköy Industrial Fair Begins

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat attended the opening of the 10th Çerkezköy Industrial Fair held in the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ.

Tekirdağ Governor Recep Soytürk, members of parliament, Çerkezköy Chamber of Commerce President Ahmet Çetin, and numerous invited guests took part in the opening ceremony.

Defense Industry Companies Fair Gathering

Important defense industry companies such as ASELSAN, BAYKAR, MKE, STM, ROKETSAN, TUSAŞ, ASPİLSAN, BEGA, and TEİ are represented at the fair, which will continue between September 9-11.

Within the scope of the fair, representatives of these companies are coming together with industrialists to hold meetings.

Tekirdağ's Strong Position in Exports

Stating that 94 percent of Turkey's annual exports are based on industrial products, Minister Bolat conveyed that 43.5 percent of total exports consist of medium-high and high-technology products.

It was emphasized that Tekirdağ has become Turkey's fifth largest export city thanks to its Çerkezköy, Çorlu, and Muratlı districts, along with organized industrial zones.

Development and National Income Figures

Stating that development support is provided to all 81 provinces as a government, Bolat indicated that investment, production, employment, and exports are four red lines.

Stating that Turkey has continued to grow for 24 quarters, Minister Bolat noted that as of the first half of the year, a national income of 1.7 trillion dollars was reached, and the national income per capita will rise to 20,500 dollars by the end of the year.
