Trade Minister Ömer Bolat Announces MTP Export and Growth Targets

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat evaluated the 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program announced by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and shared the economic targets.

Roadmap of the Medium-Term Program

In a statement on his social media account, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated that the 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program clearly outlines the economy's roadmap for the next three years.

National Income and Growth Projections

Bolat stated that they project national income to exceed 1.8 trillion dollars for the first time in the history of the Republic by the end of 2026, and per capita national income to surpass 20,000 dollars. During the program period, growth is targeted to gradually strengthen and reach 4.2 percent in 2027, 4.6 percent in 2028, and 5 percent in 2029.

Employment and Unemployment Expectations

It is planned to create approximately 2.1 million additional jobs during the announced program period. In addition, it was noted that the unemployment rate is projected to gradually decline to 7.6 percent during this process.

Export Growth and Technology Share

It was emphasized that the share of high value-added and technology-intensive products and services in exports will be increased. It was reported that the share of medium- and high-tech products in total exports rose from 40 percent in August 2024 to 44 percent as of August 2026.

450 Billion Dollar Export Target

Stating that annualized exports reached the level of 280 billion dollars as of August, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced that they aim to elevate goods and services exports to 450 billion dollars by the end of the program period.
