Turkey's International Investment Position for July 2026 Announced

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced the International Investment Position data for July. The net IIP stood at minus $398.7 billion.

According to the International Investment Position data for July published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Turkey's external assets increased while the net IIP was recorded at minus $398.7 billion.

External Assets and Liabilities

As of July, Turkey's assets abroad increased by 4.2 percent compared to the previous month, rising to $419.6 billion.

During the same period, total liabilities to the rest of the world reached $818.3 billion with a limited increase of 1 percent.

Reserve Assets and Sub-items

In July, the reserve assets item showed a significant increase of $17 billion, reaching a total of $164.4 billion.

While direct investments rose by 0.8 percent to $81.8 billion, financial derivatives increased by 0.7 percent to stand at $2.5 billion.

Other Investments and Portfolio Items

While the other investments item declined by 0.5 percent down to $161.7 billion, foreign currency assets of banks decreased by 6.9 percent to $44.7 billion.

The portfolio investments sub-item, which includes equities and mutual fund shares, increased by 1 percent to reach $50.2 billion.
