According to the 2026 population data announced by TÜİK, Bağcılar Neighborhood in Diyarbakır's Bağlar district has become Turkey's most populous neighborhood with a population of 151,459.

The Neighborhood at the Top of Turkey

The 2026 population data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute revealed striking changes in the ranking of the country's most populous neighborhoods. According to the data, Bağcılar Neighborhood in Diyarbakır's Bağlar district took the top spot with a population of 151,459.

Bağcılar Neighborhood reached a massive population, surpassing the 150,000 threshold and leaving many districts behind, thus earning the title of Turkey's most populous neighborhood.

Other Prominent Places in the Ranking

According to the announced data, Adnan Kahveci Neighborhood in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district ranked second with 110,619 people. Kayabaşı Neighborhood in Başakşehir placed third with 108,455 people.

One of the top three spots on the list was taken by Diyarbakır, while the other two were held by neighborhoods in Istanbul.

Istanbul's Share of the List

Istanbul managed to enter the announced ranking with a total of five neighborhoods. In addition to Kayabaşı, Adnan Kahveci, and Atakent neighborhoods, Zümrütevler and Zafer neighborhoods also secured places within the top 10.

Thus, the megacity Istanbul maintained its weight on the list in terms of population density.

Those with a Population Exceeding 100 Thousand

The population of four residential areas among the top 10 most populous neighborhoods across Turkey exceeded 100,000 people. These neighborhoods were listed as Bağcılar, Adnan Kahveci, Kayabaşı, and Atakent.

The list also included the neighborhoods of Fırat, Zümrütevler, Mevlana, Zafer, Karapürçek, and Halkalı Merkez.
