Turkey's September Inflation Rates and Details
According to TURKSTAT data, monthly inflation increased by 1.84 percent in September, while annual inflation stood at 29.73 percent, falling below the 30 percent mark.
According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, consumer inflation rose by 1.84 percent on a monthly basis in September. Annual inflation, after a long hiatus, fell below the 30 percent threshold to be recorded at 29.73 percent.
September Consumer Price Index Data
The September inflation figures were officially shared with the public by the Turkish Statistical Institute. According to the released data, inflation recorded an increase of 1.84 percent on a monthly basis in September.
The change in the CPI in September 2026 showed an increase of 1.84 percent compared to the previous month, and 24.32 percent compared to December of the previous year.
Annual and Twelve-Month Inflation Averages
The annual change rate in the consumer price index was realized as 29.73 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year.
Price increases based on twelve-month averages were recorded with a change of 1.49 percent.
Annual Changes in Main Expenditure Groups
The annual change rates of the three main expenditure groups with the highest weight also became clear. An annual increase of 27.62 percent was observed in food and non-alcoholic beverages.
While there was an increase of 35.10 percent in the transportation group, the increase in expenditures for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels reached the level of 39.99 percent.
Price Movements in Sub-Classes
Significant movements were observed as of September among the 174 sub-classes included in the index scope.
While a decrease was experienced in the index of a total of 35 sub-classes, no change occurred in the index of 6 sub-classes. On the other hand, an increase was recorded in the index of 133 sub-classes.
Annual Inflation Assessment by Cevdet Yılmaz
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced that September consumer inflation fell to 1.84 percent on a monthly basis and 29.73 percent on an annual basis.
Yılmaz particularly emphasized that, after a period of approximately five years, annual inflation fell below 30 percent in line with the Medium-Term Program targets.
