Two Young Filmmakers from Izmir University of Economics Reach the Altın Koza Finals
Two successful students studying in the cinema and digital media department earned the right to compete in an important film festival with their striking documentaries.
Ulviye Aleyna Sarıgül, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Communication, Department of Cinema and Digital Media, and third-year student Dila Şengezer became finalists in the 33rd International Adana Altın Koza Film Festival with the documentary films they prepared.
Young Talents Facing Off at the Festival
In the organization, which ranks among Turkey's most established film festivals, students from the same department will compete for the grand prize.
The young filmmakers, who will compete in the National Student Films Category, will sweat it out for first place in the finals to be held on October 3rd.
Garden Memories with the Documentary Akgün
This year's graduate and finalist Ulviye Aleyna Sarıgül will appear before the jury with her experimental documentary work titled Akgün.
The eleven-minute production deals with past footage recorded by phone centered around the garden where a director grew up, along with the current state of the place.
The Documentary 'Shell' and Traces on the Human Body
Third-year student Dila Şengezer earned the right to take part in the final competition with her documentary film titled Kabuktan (Shell).
The seven-minute production addresses the physical traces left by life experiences on the human body and the psychological changes experienced by the individual.
