According to weekly data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, total reserves decreased by 252 million dollars in the week of August 28, falling to 188 billion 198 million dollars.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye shared its weekly money and bank statistics with the public. According to the official data announced, total reserves, which were at the level of 188 billion 450 million dollars on August 21, recorded a decline as of August 28.

Decrease in Gross Foreign Exchange Reserves

In the weekly period ending August 28, a significant decline occurred in the Central Bank's gross foreign exchange reserves. Gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by 3 billion 119 million dollars, dropping from 74 billion 228 million dollars to 71 billion 109 million dollars.

Increase in Gold Reserves

Unlike the decline in foreign exchange reserves during the same week, an increase was observed in gold reserves. Gold reserves, which were 114 billion 221 million dollars the previous week, reached 117 billion 89 million dollars with an increase of 2 billion 868 million dollars.

With the latest statements, it became clear that the decline in total reserves stemmed from the drop on the foreign exchange side.
