According to TUIK data, gray color, gasoline engines, and the Renault brand were preferred among the 18 million cars in traffic in Turkey.
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, preferences regarding the color, fuel type, engine volume, and brand of the 18 million cars in traffic have become clear.
Total Number of Vehicles in Traffic
The total number of motor vehicles across Turkey was recorded as 34,911,879.
While cars constituted 18,037,907 of these vehicles, other vehicle classes were also announced.
Distribution by Fuel Types
Gasoline-powered vehicles constituted the highest number among registered cars.
Gasoline cars were followed by diesel and LPG options, along with hybrid and other vehicles.
Engine Volume Preferences
Vehicles with smaller engine volumes came to the forefront in drivers' engine volume preferences.
A significant portion of the cars registered in traffic in 2026 had an engine volume below 1.3.
Color and Brand Preferences
Among car colors, gray ranked at the top, constituting the primary choice.
On a brand basis, Renault was announced as the car brand with the highest number of registrations in 2026.
