According to statements made by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, a total of 294 criminals were brought to Turkey and handed over to judicial authorities in the first 9-month period of 2026.
Extraditions in the Third Quarter
In the third quarter of 2026, covering the months of July through September, a total of 89 individuals from 16 different countries were extradited to Turkey within the framework of ordinary crimes and terrorist offenses.
Prominent Countries in the Last Three Months
It was determined that out of the individuals extradited in the last three-month period of the year, 48 were brought from Georgia, 12 from Germany, 10 from Greece, and 3 from the United Kingdom.
Nine-Month Country Distribution
In the general table for the first 9 months of the year, Georgia ranked first with 137 people; this country was followed by Germany with 67 people, Greece with 19 people, Montenegro with 9 people, Bulgaria with 8 people, and the United Kingdom with 5 people.
International Judicial Cooperation
Stating that criminals cannot escape the pursuit of justice no matter where they flee, Minister Gürlek emphasized that the principle of reciprocity will continue to be observed in international judicial cooperation efforts.
