New Regulations Being Prepared for Digital Platforms and Online Games
The Ministry of Family and Social Services is working on an e-Government-based secure login system and content segregation plans according to age groups.
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that children spend a long time on digital platforms and announced that a secure login regulation integrated with e-Government and new measures for online games will be implemented.
Children's Screen Time and Risks
It was noted that children spend an average of more than 3.5 hours a day on social media platforms, drawing attention to the risks posed by this situation.
It was stated that the screen economy negatively affects sleep and reduces concentration rates in children by 48 percent, along with causing depression and anxiety.
e-Government-Based Secure Login System
It was announced that work is underway on a new regulation that envisions logging into social media platforms via e-Government.
It was conveyed that this planned regulation aims to create a more controlled and secure digital space that does not share data.
Digital Literacy and Awareness Initiatives
It was stated that the lack of sufficient awareness regarding the digital footprint poses a major risk and that families occasionally request state protection.
In this direction, it was noted that efforts to both teach digital literacy and raise social awareness are ongoing.
New Regulations for Games
It was recalled that access bans were imposed on platforms such as Roblox and Discord through court decisions.
It was stated that plans are being made to issue a new regulation regarding games and to separate content targeting the 15-18 age group.
